About Char Z Jewelry:

My love and appreciation of nature is my inspiration as an artist. My designs are derived from the simplicity of nature and the world that surrounds us each day while I take liberties of putting a contemporary twist on each piece. My hopes are that each individual can appreciate my love and compassion I put into each piece of jewelry I create.

I grew up in Minnesota enjoying the outdoors, moving out west as a young adult. I lived in Wyoming, Montana and Utah enjoying the beauty of the mountains and lakes—continuing to nurture my love and appreciation of the world surrounding us. I moved from Utah to Kansas and now have my studio in Gardner, Kansas where I call home.

I have always been a creative soul winning awards at a young age in county fairs for my creations. Having always had a passion  for silver I chose to pursue the study of precious metals.  I studied under award wining jewelry designer and Master Metal-smith Genevieve Flynn learning the techniques of silversmithing. I had the opportunity to learn a variety  of techniques including anticlastic raising and synclastic sinking.   I have had instruction in Anodizing Reactive Metals from Bill Seeley; Torch Fired Enamels from Anne Havel; Designs in Woven Metal from Jeanie Pratt. I have studied the art of chasing and repousse’ art form under the Italian Master Fabrizio Acquafresca.

I have participated in numerous art shows including the Westport Art Show, Tempe Art Show, Artfest of Scottsdale, Webster Arts Fair, The UnPlaza Art Show, Cupids Gems, Summit Art, Mulvane, Artfest on Walnut Street  among others. I have also appeared as a featured artist on a morning TV show.

I hope you enjoy your selection as much as I enjoyed creating it!
